Our trustees bring skills and experience which help to shape the services and direction of Carers Northumberland.  Some trustees hold a portfolio – a specific area of responsibility which is where their skills and expertise are utilized, however general trustee roles are also available.

This role requires commitment and an interest in carer issues as well as being able to spare the necessary time for meetings and events.  The Trustee Board meets regularly every two months for approximately 2 hours, as well as attending occasional staff and trustee days throughout the year.  There are also conferences and meetings in connection with specific portfolios.  There can be quite a lot of reading as emails and relevant information are regularly sent out in-between meetings.

At the moment specific experience or skills in the following areas would be an asset to the board:

  • Public Relations/Media
  • Funding & Finance
  • Legal
