Northumberland Youth Link is a project delivered by the local charity Children North East. They are currently recruiting and train peer mentor volunteers aged between 17-25 to provide one to one support to young people, aged 11 to 18, within their local community.
Mentors meet with their matched young person once a week, for 1-3 hours, young people to get back on track within certain aspects of their lives. Examples of support vary from meeting new friends to exploring access to further education.
Mentors are supported to develop their skills, gain experience and knowledge of working with young people and the community. They also receive a Level 2 accreditation through One Awards on our 3 day induction Peer Mentoring training.
