WELCOME to Carers Northumberland. Do you look after someone in Northumberland who depends on you because of illness, disability or frailty, or who needs support because of alcohol or drug problems?

You may look after a husband, wife, partner, child, parent, another relative or a close neighbour or friend. You probably don’t stop to think about your own needs as you are so busy with everything you do on a daily basis. Even if you may be managing well at the moment you never know when you might need extra support. That’s why Carers Northumberland exists: to support you.

Carers Northumberland is a charity dedicated to:

• Supporting carers
• Informing carers
• Providing a voice for carers

This website will give you a lot of useful information. You’ll find information to help you in your caring role, discover how you can take a break from your caring role, realise what support is available locally and learn how to make sure your views, concerns and ideas are listened to.
